Howdy. My name is River Pilot. I've made a lifestyle of navigating anything that can be ridden, flown or driven. If you need a "Pilot" then I'm your man.
I was raised as an only child on a small ranch in the foothills of Auburn, California. I thrived on the open roads and ran the nearby fields with wild abandonment. I remember taking my dog on hikes while exploring for new and exciting adventures. Sometimes I wrestled and rode our goats, played with our cows and took rides with my father on our horses. My parents bought me my first Honda SL70 motorcycle on Christmas day when I was 10 years old. From that moment on I was entranced with this new "toy".
I received my B.S. from Sacramento State and thereafter, with aspirations of being a Navy Pilot, joined the U.S. Navy and went aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). My first WestPac aboard the aircraft carrier consisted of traveling around the world for six months. That trip enlightened me to all of the wonders that the world has to offer. While the Navy pilot career never panned out, I did become a Single Engine Land private pilot.
In my personal and professional career I've worked at Fortune 400 companies, lived throughout most of the U.S., travelled around the world numerous times, owned my own businesses and have visited 49 of the 50 U.S. states. I've owned three houses, 6 dogs and ridden, driven or flown most every type of vehicle. My current bike is a 2015 Triumph Tiger 800 XCx. When I get a free moment I try to get in as much flight time as I can and practice aerobatics.
My most recent extended trip was in 2011. I rode two horses from Springfield, MO. to Atlanta, GA. The trip lasted 48 days and we completed a total of 719 miles. During the event we were able to meet some fantastic people and get some work done at the same time.
I've ridden for over 40 years now and have extensive backcountry guiding experience on motorcycles and horses. I've completed numerous basic and advanced first aid courses and fortunately, never had to use them.
When adventure, endurance riding, travel or exploring is your taste then give us a call. I and the rest of the River Pilot Tours team are going to do whatever it takes to make your adventure our priority. I'll see you out in the field.
